We ask a lot of our body.

It has to get up early, work all day, rush around all evening and get up tomorrow to do it all over again! We're stressed and busy, and we have no time to take care of ourselves. But how well a high performance machine runs has a lot to do with how well it's maintained. A poorly maintained car eventually breaks down, and so does a poorly maintained body. Finding ways to keep our body working its best is essential to long-term health. Chiropractic is a wonderful way of achieving that goal.

Your spine and a healthy nervous system.
The health of our body relies completely on the health of our nervous system. The spinal cord is an essential part of the nervous system and what keeps it protected and functioning is a healthy spine. The spine is an amazing structure made up of 24 bones called vertebrae. The way the vertebrae are connected make the spine very flexible, allowing you to move easily, while still offering the spinal cord a great deal of protection.
Why do I need a healthy nervous system?

Our body is an amazing piece of machinery, but to heal, regulate and maintain itself properly, it needs to have a nervous system that's working correctly. That's because the thousands of nerves in our body control everything that goes on, including moving, breathing, hearing, smelling as well as all the things we never thing about, like our body temperature and circulating blood. If the nervous system isn't working properly, that means every organ and tissue in our body could be affected and could be harmed.

Understanding your Spine

When the joints in the spine aren't moving correctly or become misaligned, through stress or bad posture, this is called subluxation. Subluxation can occur in any of 100 places around the spine, resulting in irritation of the nerves or interference of the nerves ability to send and receive messages. When there is nervous interference, this has a direct impact on the ability of all our organs and tissues to function properly and heal themselves. Initial symptoms might be spasms or pain, because the spine is trying to protect the area that is experiencing subluxation. But like tooth decay, subluxation of the spine is something that can be happening in your body without you knowing about it until it's too late. Long-term subluxation can result in disease and illness that affect our quality of life.

Chiropractic care and a healthy body
Ensuring that subluxations are treated and normal function of the nervous system is restored is key to preventing long-term health problems. Through adjustments to the spine, a chiropractor can restore its proper movement and re-establish normal spinal cord and nerve activity. These adjustments can restore the function of your nervous system and as a result, improve your health and well-being.
